FAQ

Questions, answered clearly.

Everything people usually ask before starting a roll: how guests join, what the camera allows, when the gallery opens, who can download what, and what it costs.

01

Getting started

How do I start an event?

Sign in, create the event, and you get one link and one QR. Free events are live straight away; paid events go through checkout first. The whole flow is on the how-it-works page.

How it works
Do guests need an app?

No. The QR opens the camera in their phone's browser. It keeps working without signal and uploads when the connection comes back.

Do guests need to sign in?

Yes, with Apple or Google, so every photo belongs to someone and the roll counts stay honest. There is no new password to create; they can add a name if they like, and they accept the house rules once.

What can I still change after creating the event?

Until the first guest scans, the setup. From then on the roll is locked: you can still close it early, lock new joins, remove a guest, hide a photo, and open the reveal once every photo is developed.

02

Guests and the camera

Can guests upload existing photos?

No. The only way onto the roll is the camera, on the night. Nothing is imported from anyone's camera roll.

How many photos can each guest take?

A roll is 12 or 24 shots, and you give each guest one to five rolls when you create the event.

What happens when a guest runs out of shots?

When a roll is full the next one starts, if you gave them more than one. When the last roll is full, the camera tells them the roll is done. Guests cannot buy more.

Can guests see photos during the event?

Not by default. Nobody sees anyone's shots, their own included, until the reveal. You can allow a two- or five-second glance right after a shot, and retakes, when you set up the event.

04

Downloads and privacy

Who can download what?

Hosts download full-size originals one by one at no cost, and can add a ZIP of the whole roll as an extra. Guests download their own shots in medium size with a small "Captured on Unseen Roll" mark.

Can guests remove a photo of themselves?

They cannot delete directly. While captions are open, a guest can ask you to take down a photo of themselves; you approve it, hide it, or decline, and a decline is final. Hosts can hide any photo at any time.

Can I hide photos or guests' names?

Yes. Anything our safety check flags waits for your review before it shows, you can hide any photo, and names on photos are off unless you turn them on.

05

Pricing and billing

Can I start free?

Yes. Events for up to 10 guests use one Quick roll per guest at no cost, with no card and no extras.

See pricing
What changes the price?

Guest count, roll type and rolls per guest. The originals ZIP and extra gallery time are optional extras, priced separately. The pricing page shows the exact number before you create anything.

See pricing
When am I charged, and what costs extra?

Once, at checkout, when you create a paid event; free events skip checkout. The only extras are the originals ZIP ($4.90 to $19.90 at setup, $24.90 later) and an extra year of gallery time ($19.90), charged when you add them.

What is the refund policy?

Cancel before the first guest scans and part of the package price comes back, measured against the original date: 75% more than 7 days out, 50% between 72 hours and 7 days, 25% between 24 and 72 hours, none inside 24 hours. Rescheduling is free within a year but waives refunds; extras are not refundable; a failure on our side is refunded in full.

What happens if my guest count changes?

If your guest count grows after purchase, contact us about upgrading before the first guest scans; you pay only the difference. Counts do not go down after purchase, and unused rolls are not refunded.
